Baked Camembert

This dinner party classic is an easy, but impressive starter to share.

Serves 4-6 as a starter to share

1 x 320g round Origin Earth Camembert-style cheese
splash white wine
few sprigs fresh thyme or rosemary
2 apples or pears, sliced
sourdough bread, thinly sliced, toasted

1              Preheat the oven to 180°C.

2              Remove the cheese from its wrapping paper and place on a double thickness of foil that is large enough to wrap around the cheese. Using a sharp knife make a cross in the top of the cheese to break the rind, pour on a splash of white wine and scatter over a few thyme or rosemary sprigs.

3              Wrap foil around the cheese and bake in the oven for 15-20 minutes. The top should be golden and the inside melted. Remove cheese from foil, place on a serving platter and serve with sliced apples or pears and toasted sourdough for dipping.
