Why in New Zealand do we have Camembert cheese we hear you say! The official term should be, soft white rind cheese. Of course we could call it, “Late for Breakfast”, but no-one would know what it was! So Camembert it is!
Our Camembert has been born out of our desire to produce in New Zealand, a soft white rind cheese that does not have overwhelming ammonia characteristics. We aim to have our cheese ripe right through to the middle, with a little white mould left on the outside. Texture will be soft and creamy and the remaining white mould will have a hint of mushroom flavour.
Treat your camembert like red wine. Make sure it is at room temperature to be able to enjoy the full flavour.
We have 2 sizes of wheels ranging from 300g to 1Kg. The smaller wheels are ideal for a gathering or for a present.
