Chocolate Milk

Choc Milk - NewOrigin Earth’s Chocolate Milk combines the popular Hawke’s Bay sourced Origin Earth cow’s milk with organic and fair trade chocolate and cocoa powder from Hawke’s Bay chocolatier La Petite Chocolat, then adds a dash of Hawke’s Bay honey and a drop of Heilala vanilla extract and that’s it. Just like our milk it is not homogenised, just pasteurised, and there are no thickeners, emulsifiers, milk powders, additives or stabilisers.

Chocolate and flavoured milks have long been Kiwi favourites and it was in response to requests from customers wanting a product made using Origin Earth milk that got Origin Earth director, Joanie Williams, into the testing room and trying out different recipes.

Chilled in summer or warmed in winter, Origin Earth Chocolate Milk is a great year-round drink.



Simply Hot Chocolate: Pour 1 x 340mL bottle Origin Earth Chocolate Milk in a saucepan and heat over a medium heat, until just below simmering. Remove from heat and pour into a mugs. Serves 1-2.

Alternately, heat in the microwave, pour Origin Earth Chocolate Milk into a microwave-safe jug or mugs and heat on HIGH (100%) for 1½ – 2½ minutes, stirring every 45 seconds until heated.

Marshmallow Hot Chocolate: Heat Origin Earth Chocolate Milk as above, pour into mugs, top with marshmallows and serve.

Chilli Hot Chocolate: Add a cinnamon stick and a pinch of red chilli flakes to Origin Earth Chocolate Milk and heat as above. Remove cinnamon stick and discard. Pour hot chocolate milk into mugs. Serve topped with whipped cream and a dusting of ground cinnamon, if desired.

Irish Hot Chocolate: Heat Origin Earth Chocolate Milk as above, place a nip of Irish whiskey in a mug and pour over hot chocolate milk. Serve topped with whipped cream and a dusting of cocoa powder, if desired.
